Bloomsbury Festival: 2 to the power 10

2 to the Power 10 is an exciting new project we launched last night with 32 artists, curated by local Bloomsbury artist Geoffrey Harrison. In association with CASS Art and The British Postal Museum & Archive, we are setting out to explore the artistic connections to Bloomsbury.

The Bloomsbury Festival over the course of one weekend in October celebrates the cultural diversity of our community here in central London. As such we wanted to celebrate not only the local artists here, but also the diverse artists we’ve shown over the last year and artists connected to the gallery.

The project is set to bring together 32 artists, each given 32 postcards to create a large composite image, then send the individual cards to 32 further creatives to collaborate with. Potentially we will exhibit 1024 creatives within the gallery. The cards will then be returned back to the gallery and the 32 original artworks will be recreated within our space. An exciting project where a certain element of uncertainty hangs over the project; What will return? Who will participate? How far will the cards travel?

We will be documenting online the course of the project and surprises along the way. Follow the Hashtag #210OD for all the latest goings on, on Twitter. Likewise stay tuned to this here blog and our Facebook Page for news on the artists involved.

Bloomsbury Festival is the 21st to 23rd of October.
Exhibition runs until the 29th of October.
